About
I started my career making films with my father Bruce at a very young age. I attended New Canaan High School in Connecticut where I formed my film foundation under the multi-talented Peter Kingsbury. One of my first short films ROCKSTARS (2003) won The National Gold Award for the best student film (Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, 2003).
I then attended New York University’s Summer Program (2004) and made five 16mm shorts, fine-tuning my film form. For a short time I was also enrolled in The Lee Strasburg Institute to study acting. I was also a Development Assistant under producer Jonathon Komack Martin at Ryan Reynold’s production company: Dark Trick Films (2005-2007).
Eventually, I joined the best at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts where under the guidance of Elizabeth Allen, David Maquiling, Kenny Hall, Michael Peyser, and Bob Jones, I wrote and directed many shorts, ads, and music videos. One particular Live Action Short, 00:05’01, was selected for fourteen film festivals worldwide.
Presently, I’m writing a few feature screenplays and have started my own production company, WinterGass, with my father Bruce and friend Kyle Gass of Tenacious D. We are looking to develop feature films, short films, music videos, advertisements, and content for the web. We have already completed a few episodes of the world’s first online variety show about guitars: GUITARINGS.
